Meet David Fagg

David Fagg is councillor for the Whipstick Ward in the City of Greater Bendigo. Cr Fagg was elected at the 2020 local council elections.

I want the neighbourhoods of the Whipstick Ward to be safe and vibrant places, where people love to live, work, and raise their families (read more about my priorities).

I’ve lived and worked in the Long Gully and Eaglehawk communities for the last 15 years, and I have extensive experience in grassroots community work, especially with families and young people.

I’ve developed skills in listening to the community, helping people to carry out their ideas, and advocating for them in the wider community. With others, I have established a local community centre, a community garden, youth outdoor and dance programs, a toy library, networking initiatives, and a food distribution program.

I worked at Eaglehawk Secondary College as a teacher and youth worker, and have been a community worker at St Matthew’s Church, Long Gully, for the last 12 years. I’ve also served on various committees, and I am the current President of the Violet Street Primary School school council.

I’m not a member of any political party. This is my first term in council. I am 43 years old, and have qualifications in teaching and youth work. I am married to Kylie, and we have 2 young sons. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my sons, bushwalking, cycling, and reading.
